FLOWER POWER

The skies cleared today and the sun came out. Not only are things starting to grow but flowers are now appearing. The row of crocuses planted by the local council on the street edge are pushing through the masses of wet leaves. A joy! The sun, still low in the sky, reaches here at this time of year so it is 'out with the camera'.

Our garden which is north facing does not get any sun – even on the south side – at this time of year. None-the-less we are now seeing the first of the early spring flowers which appear at this northern latitude.

We always have plenty of 'green' in the garden and in these times of warmer temperatures it is not uncommon to see early flowering of primulas and azaleas, for example. However, today, this is what I found ....

Winter Anemone

Snowdrops

Pulmonaria
