ITUNES ACCOUNT - TO ADD MORE MONEY

Whenever I find I have learned how to do something which involves using computers or using the internet it changes.  This invariably happens when a particular software application is updated.

I wanted to top up my account on iTunes by adding money to my account which I had set up, some years ago, on the computer.  I spent ages trying do it.  Ho hum ... everything had changed... but I figured it out eventually.

This is what needs to be done to put money into an existing iTunes account.  For starters you cannot do it directly from your computer.

You have to purchase a "Gift card" from your local outlet (I assume in the desert these are in handy locations) and do it that way.

To redeem it:

[1] Use main iTunes home page.

[2] Top right near Search bar is Name (of your ACCOUNT) typed in plain font, lower case.

[3] Clicking on this there are 4 items: Wish List, Recently Purchased, Redeem and Account Info.  Click on Redeem.

[4] At this point in time the way to operate the card is to either scan (which worked) or type in the code number on the back of the card.

[5]  My problem was that I was trying to put money into the account using the part of the site called 'Account Info', as was the case previously. There is no instruction here to go to a different part of the menu (namely, up the way) where it says REDEEM.

MAIL 5.3 MENU BAR MISSING (MAC): SOLUTION

My computer is Mac OX 10.7.5.  The Mail (email) program has been upgraded.  I could open up Mail 5.3 but there was no Menu Bar.  (I could quit by pressing Control Q.)

When opening it up, it flashed and then the whole screen was taken up by the Mail window.

I sorted the problem by the "empirical" method, by that I mean I tried clicking on various keys and the following worked:

[1] Hold down the Shift Key.  Keep holding it down.
[2] Click on Mail in dock to open it up.
[3] Place cursor at top of the screen so that when the Menu bar appears and then disappears you are ready to quickly do [4]
[4] Click wherever you can when menu bar flashes before it "disappears"

Fixed.

COLOUR TABLE NOT SHOWING IN MAC PHOTOSHOP

I  have solved a problem (with the help on Alastair at the end of Skype at the weekend).

The Colour Table was not showing in Photoshop at the point where you finish working with the image and are at Save for Web and Devices. The Colour Table was greyed out.  I have sorted the problem.

(Here is my lovely cherry pie I made today!  It must be over 40 years since I made one..... I digress.)

On the screen  (upper right corner as seen in the screen shot* above which is what you see when you are in Save for Web and Devices) you have to make sure the field at the top which sits under Preset,  has GIF in it. Now I do not know what I had before; I do not know if other options work.  All I know is that the Colour Table has returned and furthermore it is still there (as GIF) when I repeat the procedure.   QED.

* When I figure out to get a closer image of this I will post it.
