FIRST CRUISE OF THE SEASON

Iain and Peter set off early this morning to take Seol-na-Mara down the Clyde from Rothsay Dock, near Clydebank, to Kip Marina.

It was a glorious day and they had an uneventful sail arriving at noon.  Last year was not so good when their first sail of the season involved numerous occasions of engine trouble.

It has been many years since we have been to this marina.  We remember when it was a gravel pit. The owner dug it out, sold off the gravel, put in pontoons and never looked back.  Since then a huge development of houses has sprung up around it.  Is Britain sinking into the North Sea?  There's plenty of money in these sort of places!  And what is more, 3 more marinas have been established in the Clyde and all have their facilities full of boats.  It does, of course, beg the question ... does anyone ever go out for a sail?!
