ANNE'S GARDEN

Big stone pillars at the gate, old stone walls and a long south-facing slope down to a loch form the setting for Anne's garden. It is her Haven of Refuge, her Stress-Buster and Source of All Pleasures in Nature.

Fruit, vegetables and flowers, trees large and small, hedges, walls complete with nooks and crannies are all there ... and that is just the top part! At the bottom of the slope is her sit-ootery at the edge of the loch. The water plants and surrounding trees form a habitat for the many resident birds.

Ripening gooseberries in the kitchen garden.

Mid-way down the slope is an east-west herbacious garden graced by this sundial plinth which appears as old as the (mid 1850s) house.

The Lady Gardener is in the kitchen having a break. Actually, she's in the middle of baking bread!
